Native Code, Off-heap Data, and Java

Working with native code and off-heap data is appealing, but quite complicated.

The talk will cover existing solutions to access off-heap data and how to interoperate with native code. Also, future plans will be covered (e.g., VarHandles (JDK 9) and Project Panama).

Vladimir is a Lead Engineer in Oracle, he works in JVM HotSpot development group and specializes in JIT-compilation and alternative languages support over JVM platform. Vladimir works on the development of new mechanisms of interaction with native code and off-heap data (Project Panama).
